The role is for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer on the Enterprise Cloud Adoption team within Caterpillar’s Information Technology Division. The engineer will support IaaS workloads and help customers adopt Azure cloud technologies. This position emphasizes inclusive, adaptable, and forward‑thinking collaboration.
- Deploy Azure services using PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure CLI, and code (Python, Java, NodeJS, etc.).
- Provision, scale, and secure virtual machines, including images and extensions.
- Configure virtual networks, NSGs, load balancers, VPN gateways, DNS, routing, and ExpressRoute.
- Implement storage solutions such as Blob, Disk, and File storage with appropriate performance tiers and lifecycle policies.
- Set up monitoring and logging with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Manage security through RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and policy enforcement.
- Configure backup, site recovery, and geo‑redundancy for disaster recovery.
- Produce documentation, training materials, and usability support for customers.

- 7+ years of infrastructure operations or application development experience, especially in networking, security, distributed computing, databases, and storage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Azure certifications (AZ‑900, AZ‑104, AZ‑500) preferred.
- Experience designing logical/technical architectures and using Agile methodology.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps.
- Proven technical leadership or lead developer experience in cloud computing.
- Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
Benefits
The ideal locations are East Peoria IL, Irving TX, or Nashville TN, with a required five‑day‑a‑week on‑site schedule and up to 10 % travel. The role offers a salary range of $112,710 – $183,140, plus performance‑based bonuses.
