The bilingual instructional designer will lead the creation and development of training programs in both French and English. Working closely with subject‑matter experts, developers and other stakeholders, the role translates learning objectives into engaging instructional content that aligns with GFL’s business goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and define learning objectives.
- Analyze learner profiles and contexts to select effective learning solutions.
- Design engaging eLearning modules, videos, simulations, assessments, and other multimedia content in both French and English.
- Develop exercises, activities, and performance criteria to support knowledge retention and transfer.
- Facilitate pilot trainings and Train‑the‑Trainer sessions.
- Maintain and publish content in the LMS, ensuring a centralized repository.
- Apply adult learning principles to choose appropriate delivery methods (eLearning, self‑paced, instructor‑led, virtual, micro‑learning).
- Ensure training materials are linguistically and culturally appropriate for Quebec and Canada.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and communicate progress, risks, and action plans.
- Analyze training completion data and generate reports for stakeholders.

The position requires a deep understanding of adult learning theory, curriculum planning and modern learning technologies. The designer will manage the end‑to‑end instructional design process, from needs analysis through evaluation, while ensuring cultural and linguistic relevance for Quebec and the broader Canadian workforce.
Candidates must hold 3‑5 years of experience designing web‑based, video‑based or virtual learning, fluency in English and French, and a post‑secondary qualification in instructional design or a related discipline. Technical expertise includes authoring tools such as Articulate 360, LMS administration, video editing software, and proficiency with productivity suites.
- Possess 3–5 years experience designing and managing online, video, or virtual learning projects.
- Hold a post‑secondary diploma/degree in instructional design, educational technology, multimedia design, or related field.
- Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken French and English.
- Proficient with Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise) and at least one major LMS (e.g., Docebo, Cornerstone, SuccessFactors).
- Skilled in video editing tools such as Vyond or Camtasia, and competent with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Intermediate Excel/Google Sheets abilities for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in technical writing, graphic design, or advanced eLearning development is a plus.
