Engineer

Description

The Building Engineer at Hotel Granduca ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The role includes preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and timely response to guest and internal service requests across guest rooms, public areas, exterior grounds, and pool facilities.

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Lead troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC systems.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and summon additional assistance when needed.
• Maintain and repair the hotel’s lighting system, including ballasts and fixtures.
• Address guest and internal service requests with professionalism and promptness.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and safe; follow proper tool and chemical usage protocols.
• Inspect and maintain pool systems, monitoring water chemistry and filtration.
• Support exterior maintenance tasks such as minor landscaping, painting, and outdoor repairs.
• Collaborate with all departments to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Report safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Ensure compliance with local safety codes and hotel policies.

Requirements

Hotel Granduca Houston operates 24/7; the Engineer must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and may be assigned overtime or on‑call duties. The position is based in Houston, TX.

• Hold a high school diploma/GED; trade certifications are preferred.
• Bring 1–3 years of hotel, commercial, or facility maintenance experience.
