Senior Experiential Designer

This Senior Experiential Designer position at Kasian is a creative and collaborative role for driving business growth and enhancing Kasian’s user experience design capabilities across all business sectors. This role would support all Kasian offices, and your location would ideally be Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto.

• Manage and produce all phases of the project as it relates to experiential design for the project, from concept development to production of detailed drawings and specifications, review shop drawings and coordination of installation.
• Stay updated on the latest design trends, materials and production methods
• Work with the project Design team to confirm alignment with the project process, budget and schedule as well as client expectations.
• Coordinate with professionals such as other consultants, fabricators, installers and the project team to ensure project success.
• Consult with colleagues and clients to understand their design needs and objectives relative to experiential design as an art form. Art can play a role when it is approached not as decoration, but as cultural infrastructure – a system that reflects identity, fosters dialogue, and adapts over time
• Create design concepts with the Interior Design/Architecture team to achieve a framework of solutions that reflect the clients’ community and shape how people experience and move through space
• Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes
• Perform site visits and inspections to ensure correct installation.
• Promote client satisfaction
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of projects

• BSc degree in Graphic design, Industrial design, Interior design, Fine Arts, or related field.
• Proven work experience (over 5 years) as an experiential designer working in an architectural/Interior design firm or other specialized consulting firm, with an ability to understand architectural drawings.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and REVIT to collaborate with our architecture and interior design teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Significant addition and improvement to Kasian’s design offering
• Capable of managing a team and has overseen large-scale projects
• Has worked in a senior-level role that requires strategic thinking and a high degree of creativity, and problem-solving skills
