What you would be doing

  • Installation, testing and commissioning of water, storm and sanitary pipe and underground raceway
  • Installation of push-on and mechanically restrained joint piping (i.e. Megalug)
  • Monitor and guide excavation by equipment operator
  • Cut and bevel pipe ends
  • Assembly of manholes, catch basins and drainage structures
  • Installation of ductile iron, PVC, HDPE, and other buried piping systems up to and sometimes exceeding 48” in diameter
  • Assist Foreman, Engineers, and/or Superintendent in the layout of various piping systems
  • Hand excavation, digging of trenches, backfilling, raking, tamping, and compacting soil
  • Assemble and install shoring and trench boxes in excavation as required

  • Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
  • Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience within the construction industry
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
