Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
Discuss a plan of action daily for the following day, ensure that the crew is involved and has the resources needed to meet those goals.
Communicate effectively with contractors, superintendents, and others on the job
Install fiberglass building insulation, metal cladding, standing seam roofs.
Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and training and safety handbooks. Properly follow OSHA safety procedures.
Supervise and train and develop crew members
Meet project deadlines and perform the work within the constraints of the budget and schedule
Prepare material prior to assembly.
Working from mobile elevated work platforms and operating them.
Signal crane operator in setting of steel members during erection.
Document changes in the field and progress. Communicate these with the superintendent and assigned PM.
Install insulated metal panels, windows, passage doors.
Cut and weld metal sections using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.
Prep truck and equipment for each day’s production goals.
Hoisting and guiding components into place using cranes or telehandlers.
Rig hoist and move material.

Ability to oversee, promote and execute safety guidelines in accordance with Mahaney Steel’s Safety Policies.

Has strong time management skills and ability to meet crucial deadlines.
Minimum 1-year, or equivalent, supervisory or management experience required.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedules.
Must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, attendance, and work ethic.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold).
Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
Ability to work on elevated levels.
Ability to work in dusty/dirty conditions.
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles required.
Ability to stand on feet and sit on knees for long periods of time.
Experience with steel erection, wall panels, and metal roofing required.
Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools (hammers, levels & squares, circular saws, impact drills).
Experience with SSR roofing and insulated panels preferred.
Ability to manage people and production in the industry.
3-5 years of work experience in the steel industry is required.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, agility test, and drug screen.
Ability to climb a 40+ft ladder.
Experience with reading and interpreting metal building blueprints required.
Ability to stand on feet and kneel for long periods of time, 12+ hours.
Problem solving.
Ability to lift/carry 75+ lbs.
Ability to work various hours/schedules.
Ability to plan ahead.
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Ability to understand the individual skill levels of each crew member.
