Coordinates activities and projects with local, regional, State and Federal agencies;
collect, organize and analyze data and to formulate conclusions;
monitor and review project status and to report on progress;
Assists in the preparation of various documents that may include technical reports, train operating schedules, service contracts, service and non-service related agreements including leases, licenses and easements, equipment procurements, maintenance, service cycles and specifications, construction schedules, project contracts, force account agreements, construction methods, design functions, project budgets, material specifications, audit schedules, financial contracts or reviews, grant applications, quarterly reports and other administrative instruments;
Monitors and reviews rail operational and/or budgetary activities for conformance with terms and conditions of the agreements or contracts;
Collects and analyzes data and develops findings based on the analysis;
Assists in the development and/or implementation of projects and activities for rail transportation involving operations, equipment, construction, maintenance, engineering, capital projects, administration or finance relating to rail activities;

College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
Experience with the principles and practices of railroad operations, maintenance, facility operations, service contracts, legal agreements, operating budgets, invoicing as well as experience with statistical and technical report writing and development.
A Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent experience in railroad operations, business management, marketing or facility operations is preferred. Preferred experience is in the field of Public Transportation.

Successful completion of a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of railroad functions in operations, rail equipment, rail construction, rail maintenance, engineering, capital projects, finance or administration;
