Pipeline Integrity Technician

The Senior Pipeline Integrity Technician at Applus is responsible for supporting the integrity digs to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pipeline and facilities systems. This role involves conducting inspections and assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in non-destructive testing, past PIA/FIA experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and compliance.

• Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
• Evaluate pipeline threats and propose mitigations in accordance with PHMSA, DOT, and NRC regulations.
• Train and mentor junior technicians in best practices and safety protocols.
• Represents Applus with outside groups, regulatory bodies, associations, and clients.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
• Coordinate integrity digs programs, anomaly remediation, and data integration with GIS tools.
• Conduct routine and non-routine inspections of pipelines using various NDT methods, including ultrasonic testing, magnetic flux leakage, radiography, and visual inspections.
• Oversee field data collection and collaborate with engineers to validate ILI results
• Lead and perform inline inspections (ILI), external corrosion direct assessments (ECDA), and non-destructive testing (NDT) on high-pressure pipelines.
• Maintain detailed inspection logs, prepare technical reports, and support audit readiness.

• Ability to be flexible with work schedules and respond to requests without advance warning or notification.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge with GWUT, and other advanced NDT methods strongly preferred.
• Ability to excel in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, solve problems, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• ASNT TC-1A Level II certifications.
• Knowledge of radiation safety and operational field requirements regarding radiation safety.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of NDT techniques, services and procedures.
• Ability to adapt in a high pressure and high production environment while managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service focus, ability to quickly build strong working relationships with business partners and colleagues.
• Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Applus. Exhibits honesty, discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check / drug screening.
• Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
• Occasional to frequent travel will be required within Canada.
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Excellent report writing and review skills.
• 5+ years of experience in pipeline integrity, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and other software applications.
• Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
• Strong commitment to quality inspection and reporting.
• Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repetitive as part of daily work scope
• ASNT Level II or III certification (PAUT, TOFD, MT, PT) strongly preferred.
• A sense of urgency, good attention to detail, excellent organizational and analytical skills, pragmatic, eager to learn.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills matched with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
