Carry and respond to pager during normal working hours.
Cleans, lubricates hand tools and operates and maintains various mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment as directed. May be required to use digging tools.
Performs the less involved routine manual assignments in conjunction with assisting higher classified employees in the performance of their assigned duties. Observes all operations of higher classified employees. Perform directed assignments as required.
Sets up work protective equipment, safety tests manholes, opens manholes and performs related general housekeeping functions necessary to maintain safe work areas. Drives company vehicles.
Secures, loads, delivers, unloads, assembles, places in position and distributes tools, materials, supplies and other equipment to higher classified employees as needed. Heats and prepares compound and solder for splicing.

Ability to write, speak, read, comprehend and communicate clearly and accurately in the English language.
Ability to obtain a Class A restricted Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement.
Ability to observe conditions, learn work methods and to follow verbal as well as written instructions.
Must be willing and able to work overtime on a regular basis and must be available for call out overtime, consistent with the Labor Agreement.
Ability to identify and use various hand tools and power tools.
Possess valid private motor vehicle operator's permits.
