Fabricator

Description

The role involves working in a countertop fabrication shop where employees handle physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, and operating machinery. The environment is typically comfortable but includes exposure to temperature extremes, moving equipment, noise, dust, and fumes common to countertop production.

• Examine customer specifications, drawings, and work orders to determine material and machine setup requirements.
• Fabricate work pieces according to work order specifications and retrieve appropriate materials.
• Inspect finished pieces using visual checks, touch, tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure quality standards.
• Operate and maintain machinery (e.g., waterjet saw, edge polishers, CNC routers) including programming, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.
• Keep the work area organized and free of trash, ensuring products are correctly positioned.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Select correct processes based on prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction; seek supervisor guidance for non‑routine issues.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old, pass drug test, background check, and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Require 0–2 years of related experience; preferred experience with countertop fabrication equipment, granite, Corian, or similar solid surfaces.
• Ability to perform intermittent physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy or awkward materials.
