EPC Project Field Engineer

Description

The Field Engineer will work with a project construction team to construct utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) EPC projects. This role assists the site manager and collaborates closely with field supervision to ensure successful project execution.

• Review and manage project documents, drawings, permits, and reports on the construction cloud drive.
• Collect on‑site data and prepare reports for review.
• Track and submit weekly production and productivity metrics.
• Attend and coordinate field meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss schedule and progress.
• Collaborate with the Field Superintendent, foremen, and Project Manager to provide schedule updates.
• Generate RFIs, change orders, and cost estimates with input from the superintendent.
• Identify out‑of‑scope work or condition changes requiring RFIs and notify stakeholders.
• Monitor as‑built documents and final submittals.
• Update project schedules with the Scheduler and Project Manager.
• Prepare and maintain internal project budgets, tracking costs against thresholds.
• Provide field supervision with production data, material tracking, and administrative support.
• Summarize and process time and material paperwork.

Requirements

This position requires approximately 90% field time and the ability to work remotely when needed. Hours are variable, ranging from 40 to 60 per week based on project schedules, and overtime beyond 40 hours is not guaranteed.

• BS in Engineering or pursuing Construction/Project Management; renewables background accepted.
• Construction experience or strong desire to learn the industry.
• Proficiency with MS Office, BlueBeam, and web‑based software applications.
• Ability to read civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, independent work attitude with ability to multitask under pressure.
• Dependable, punctual, team‑oriented with leadership potential.
• Willingness to spend ~90% of time in the field and work variable hours.
