Electrical Studies Engineer

Description

As an Electrical Engineer focusing on Power System Studies at Paradigm Power Delivery, your primary role will center on performing technical analyses and simulations to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power systems. You will engage in developing models, conducting studies, and providing recommendations that support both internal teams and external clients.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure alignment of technical specifications while delivering high-quality engineering outputs.
• Conduct power system studies including transmission planning, system stability, load flow, short-circuit, reliability, arc flash, harmonics, grounding, lighting, lightning and transient stability analyses that support the design and operation of electrical systems.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation that summarize study findings and recommendations, assisting clients in making informed decisions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to improve power system studies.
• Develop, review, and validate models for power system components using software tools such as ETAP, PSS/e, or similar.
• Be actively involved in the preparation of proposals and business development activities.

Requirements

• Full understanding of IEEE codes and standards applicable to the electrical grid.
• Ability to travel to the Overland Park office for training, development, team building, and client engagement activities.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and precision.
• Previous experience working in the US market and/or with a US based engineering company.
• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Be proactive in supporting construction operations with a problem solving mindset.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, codes, and standards applicable to the US market.
• Full understanding of NEC codes and standards applicable to the electrical grid.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in power system analysis and studies
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems preferred.
• Proficiency in software tools for power system studies (e.g., ETAP, PSS/e, SKM).
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Previous experience working in the US market.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in power system analysis and studies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
