Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures.
Conduct scientific and engineering calculations, analyze and interpret technical data, and create clear, concise reports and presentations using multiple different software programs.
Offer organizational support to Durham office staff in a range of in-office tasks, which may include reviewing compliance requirements, preparing project documentation, and preparation for field work.
Provide technical memorandums and reports satisfying environmental compliance requirements for state, local, and federal regulations.
Support air quality environmental compliance-related projects, including gathering field data from job sites through personnel interviews, records review, and direct measurement.
Maintain established quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
Complete training on assigned tasks to develop expertise.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of industry-standard environmental compliance practices and record-keeping requirements.
Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products.
Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
A member of and/or active participant in local professional practice organizations.
Prior internship or related experience in environmental science or engineering.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
