Design using 3D modeling techniques, releasing 2D detailed drawings, creating and managing BOM from prototype level to mass production level of product development cycle in PLM system
Work with cross functional teams to qualify alternate battery cells, electronic modules and other components-based battery packs along with second source development for subcomponents
Work with the model shop and suppliers to get the prototypes, attend product builds at contract manufacturer
Perform thermal analysis and thermal management for high power electronic assemblies
Employ Design of Experiments and other scientific methods to develop/qualify processes.
Expected to utilize lab test equipment such as data collection equipment, power supply, oscilloscope and electronic load to conduct testing.
Design test plans, analyze results from advance testing
Work with various disciplines inside the organization such as ID, Marketing, Manufacturing compliance, safety and purchasing to understand design considerations and Product CTQs
Supplier development for key components and working with contract manufacturers
Perform Structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis packages
Expected to evaluate, approve, and implement engineering change orders.

3-5 years of experience in product development of Li Ion Battery packs and Battery Management Systems
Able to create 2D drawings and possess a firm understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to design plastic components, metallic components, working with various materials
Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board design desired
Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stacks ups, Failure analysis etc
This position requires knowledge of electromechanical assemblies and/or Battery Packs.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet schedule and cost commitments
B.S. or equivalent in Mechanical engineering discipline, MSME preferred
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes for various electronic and other products
Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, a must, CATIA V5 preferred
Able to travel domestically and internationally
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Have excellent communication skills to deal with customers and suppliers to meet the targets of scheduled events
High level of organization to manage multiple projects.
