- Develop and review engineering deliverables, including studies, drawings, calculations, and specifications for complex substation projects.
- Assign tasks and provide technical direction to junior and mid‑level team members.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to build specialized expertise and stay current with industry practices.
- Contribute to technical papers and presentations showcasing HDR’s capabilities.
- Mentor, train, and supervise EITs and Designers as needed.
- Support cross‑team QC reviews to maintain company and client standards.
- Develop design specifications, studies, reports, and analysis related to substation design.

- Minimum of 8 years of substation design experience (indoor and outdoor).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous consulting firm experience.
- Proficient with electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, CDEGS, and WinIGS.
- Experience developing technical standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power Market design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
