Site Engineer (Shafts/Microtunnelling)

Description

We are recruiting several Site Engineers to join our civil engineering team on nationwide projects, working on cross‑passages, micro‑tunnelling, shaft sinking, auger boring, streetworks and groundworks. The role involves overseeing a range of civils works and coordinating with project managers and installation teams to ensure successful delivery.

• Set out detailed works according to contract drawings and perform regular checks.
• Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy.
• Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded per client specifications.
• Provide engineering support to resolve technical problems.
• Conduct pre‑start site surveys.
• Hand over works and quality records on time without outstanding defects, coordinating with the Project Manager and installation teams.
• Promote a high standard of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Carry out site calibration checks.
• Assist in resolving unexpected technical difficulties and other issues.
• Maintain a valid CSCS card.

Requirements

• Possess shaft or micro‑tunnelling experience.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of setting out on civil engineering projects.
• Hold sound knowledge of construction methods, health & safety and legal regulations.
• Be flexible to travel nationwide.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills for liaising with site teams and clients.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Show proven troubleshooting skills.
