Graduate/Assistant Bridges Engineer

Description

• Foster a culture of right first-time delivery and work with Project Managers/Principals to ensure effective project delivery.
• Ensure all work is carried outin accordance withMott MacDonald's quality standard procedures.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and standards are met.
• Development of functional concept design,developmentand review of technical solutions.
• Comply withindustry standards and safety regulations.
• Perform advanced Structural analyses, including finite element analysis and modelling, limitequilibriumand soil-structure interaction analysis fordifferent type of bridge structure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve projectobjectivesto develop design solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Work with the Senior discipline staff and Resource Managers to proactively manage workloads.
• Complete assigned tasksin accordance withquality, timescales, and budgeted hours.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, andnew technologies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

Requirements

• Activeperticipationwith knowledge management and digital delivery initiatives for the team.
• Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (written and verbal)
• Experience in and a commitment to effective management of Health, Safety and Welfare, Safety by Design.
• An excellent understanding of relevantinternationalstandards (e.g. Eurocodes, AASHTO, etc.).
• Ability to deliver high quality design documentation includingoptionappraisals, drawings, calculations, reports,specificationsand construction documentation from Structural Point of view.
• General IT software skills, such as, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, ProjectWise,Bentleyand Autodesk software.
• Experience of digital delivery tools and workflows, for example BIM, parametricdesignand automation.
• M.TechorMaster’sdegree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Up to 4 years of experience inBridge design.
• Demonstrable experience in bridge analysis, design and assessment including an ability to undertake and oversee the analysis of structures using standard industry software, such MIDAS Civil, STAAD Pro, Robot, SAP2000,LUSAS, ASBDor similar.
• Degree qualified in civil engineering (BE/B. Tech./ME/M. Tech./ MSc or equivalent).
• Agile working
• Proficient with construction stage analysis forbridgestructure and deepfoundation.
• Knowledge of the sustainablebridge designwould beadvantageous.
• Experience of working on detailed design projects of designing PSC, RCC, Steel and Composite structures
