The Temporary Cleaner – On Call works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor at C&W Services, performing a variety of custodial duties in accordance with the company's established standards, instructions, and procedures.
Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, and washing interior floors, as well as operating light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines. The cleaner also vacuums rugs in offices and public areas, spot‑cleans daily, and shampoons rugs when directed. Dusting and cleaning of furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, windowsills, interior glass, and other horizontal surfaces, along with periodic high‑dusting, are performed. Bathroom sanitation involves wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and paper dispensers, cleaning tile walls and floors, and reporting defects such as clogged urinals. Additional responsibilities include collecting building trash, replacing liners, and shoveling snow from entrances and walkways as needed.
No previous cleaning experience is required; the role demands the ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively within a team. The employee must be capable of operating cleaning tools and equipment, including portable backpack‑style vacuums. Strong attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organizational skills, and high levels of energy and endurance are essential.
The position offers an hourly wage of $17.00 to $17.75, and eligible employees may enroll in a comprehensive benefits package that typically includes health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid or unpaid time off. Compensation is subject to factors such as geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, market rates, and the candidate’s experience.
