Role
What you would be doing

  • Produce production plans for the current work load
  • Direct communication with MD/CEO and staff satisfaction surveys
  • Organise, arrange, and manage subcontract labour if required
  • Ensure cabins / buildings are ready and available within the factory and site prior to delivery and that the customer’s requirements have been met.
  • Recruit, train and motivate factory operatives
  • Minimise material wastage.
  • Play an active role in the development of the factory to meet the needs of the Mod Hire business over the next 5-10 years
  • Ensure all H&S procedures are adhered too, and that all legal and company inspections are carried out.
  • Ensure workshop and yard are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of cabins / buildings and materials.
  • To attend training as required to carry out duties
  • Ensure effective working of all factory staff with the supervision of charge-hand (s)
  • Create SOP’s for all working practices
  • Liaise with Projects teams on work in progress to ensure orders are completed on time.
  • Support staff members to understand and deliver on their roles
  • Ensure all company documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Develop systems and procedures to ensure security and safety of factory, yard and stock.
  • Where required, negotiate with and order materials at best price from approved suppliers
  • Carry out work in accordance with company approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck License
  • Professionally qualified CSCS (black card), CPCS, First Aid, IPAF, management qualifications
  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person Qualification
  • Mobile crane qualification (Appointed Person) & experience
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Forklift truck licence
  • Factory management experience at a senior level with relevant qualifications preferably within the construction industry from either a commercial, design or project delivery orientated background
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of Building Contracts (JCT and NEC)
  • Excellent leadership skills in managing teams from various disciplines.
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Full UK drivers license
  • Demonstrate a pro-active attitude to problem solving
  • To work additional hours (overtime) as is reasonably required by the business
  • IT Literate including Microsoft Project
  • Excellent leadership skills in managing teams from various disciplines
  • Proficient in writing Microsoft Project programmes
