The Prepayments & Accruals role ensures that prepaid expenses and accruals are recorded in accordance with US GAAP. It also maximizes the use of existing systems such as Oracle and BlackLine while adopting new technologies, and guarantees that all processes comply with AECOM policies and SOX controls. The position reports to the Team Lead, Prepayments & Accruals – GBS.
- Manage prepaid and accrual categories, ensuring accurate US GAAP accounting treatment.
- Execute monthly close process, perform reconciliations and prepare standard journals/ZAP entries.
- Generate daily activity updates during month‑end and maintain a scheduled accruals listing.
- Liaise with internal auditors to meet local regulatory and SOX compliance requirements.
- Monitor adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements, driving efficiencies with Source‑to‑Pay and new technologies.
- Optimize existing systems (Oracle, BlackLine) and evaluate emerging technology opportunities.
- Meet internal KPIs and customer‑focused SLAs for best‑in‑class general accounting service.

- Demonstrate strategic decision‑making, business acumen, leading change, analytical thinking, collaboration, communication, continuous improvement, customer service, planning & organizing, problem solving, and results orientation.
- Minimum CPA or equivalent; at least 2 years accounting/finance experience, including 1 year in general accounting within a global organization.
- Experience in operational compliance within shared services and strong English communication and stakeholder management skills.
