Overview

Operate and monitor a water treatment plant, ensuring water quality and compliance.

Tasks

-Perform housekeeping and grounds maintenance -Liaise with clients, authorities, agencies, contractors, and consultants -Operate the plant according to schedule and maintain discharge water quality per permit specifications -Issue permits and supervise contractors/staff as needed -Report abnormal events to management per company procedures -Maintain accurate data collection, reporting, and order consumable replacements -Conduct and assist with COSHH/risk assessments and safety/environmental audits -Manage chemical storage, handling, and usage safely and economically -Provide standby cover and work flexibly to meet operational demands -Comply with all health, safety, and statutory regulations -Collect and analyse samples per work instructions; adjust flows and chemical dosing based on results

What You Bring

-Experience operating water treatment plants or chemical processes -Proficient with SCADA systems, standard software (Google/Microsoft), and PDA devices -Able to work independently and prioritise tasks, including alarm response and interpretation -Competent in production monitoring, instrumentation calibration/validation, and energy management -Knowledge of Risk & Assurance principles (Risk Assessments, COSHH, PPE, Lone Working, Environmental awareness) -First-line maintenance capabilities (cleaning, greasing, calibration, condition monitoring) -Calibrate instrumentation and troubleshoot plant issues with team support -Familiarity with Quality Management Systems -Strong administrative skills (logs, records, work orders, stock management)
