Senior Estimator

Description

Compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annually. The Estimator is responsible for overall planning and management of estimating activities for specific construction projects, including preparation, interpretation, and presentation of accurate estimates. Key duties include reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating subcontractor solicitations, and ensuring bids adhere to schedule.

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Coordinate subcontractor solicitations and conduct job walks
• Determine labor and equipment costs and prepare conceptual estimates
• Manage bidding schedule, submit purchase requisitions, and compile bid documents
• Compare competitive trade bids and review pre‑bid estimates with the Project Manager
• Prepare subcontractor bid lists, distribute drawings, and assist on bid day
• Support jobsite staff with post‑award estimates and perform buyouts as needed
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Supervise and train estimating staff where applicable

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of estimating experience in construction
• Ability to read specifications and drawings and make accurate calculations
• Working knowledge of construction costs, principles, and quantity takeoffs
• Proficiency with drafting software and computer estimation tools
