As a Cloud Platform Specialist you will join the Compute and Storage team, reporting to the Compute & Storage Manager, and help drive the Microsoft Cloud‑first strategy while integrating third‑party cloud platforms.
In this role you will advise on technical standards and strategy, deliver service improvements across compute and storage platforms, and lead transformative projects. You will act as a technical escalation point, provide 4th line support and collaborate with infrastructure, applications, security and service delivery teams to ensure operational excellence.
Your work will enhance operational resilience, support digital transformation and optimise service performance, contributing to a high‑performing, customer‑focused IT function that underpins business growth. - Contribute to development and refinement of technical standards and best practices for compute and storage platforms, including Azure and Windows Server.
- Support project delivery such as cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, automation initiatives, and service enhancements, aligning with strategic objectives.
- Provide operational 4th line support for cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, ensuring environments are current, secure, and optimized.
- Act as technical escalation point for complex incidents, problems, and changes, driving resolution and continuous improvement.
- Support identity management and access control (Active Directory, Entra‑ID, RBAC) to ensure robust authentication and authorization.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize cost, performance, and capacity of compute and storage services, proactively identifying issues.
- Participate in strategic projects like cloud migrations, automation initiatives, and service enhancements.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including diagrams, designs, procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align operational activities with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements, supporting regular reviews and implementing controls.
- Mentor and support operations teams, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of learning and operational excellence.

- Demonstrated capability in risk identification, escalation management, and effective decision‑making under pressure.
- Professional certification in Azure.
- Experience operating within complex, matrixed organisations and managing global teams.
- Experience with Microsoft cloud cost optimisation.
- Cloud performance engineering (capacity planning, performance tuning).
- Knowledge of containerisation platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
