Cost and Commercial Head

Description

The position provides leadership to managers and professionals, ensuring robust cost control, reporting, and continuous improvement of systems and processes. It involves managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contributing to the net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing carbon emissions throughout delivery.

• Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses and facilitate formal execution.
• Advise on administration of construction works or services contracts.
• Measure and value work performed, adjusting variations per contract terms.
• Ensure adequate cost control and reporting throughout the contract.
• Supervise production of monthly post‑contract cost reports and present them to the client.
• Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
• Evaluate claims for delay and additional costs from contractors and subcontractors.
• Advise on issuing certificates of practical completion and negotiate final accounts.
• Guide the issuance of certificates for defect remediation and final completion.
• Manage the cost consultancy team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive improvements in systems and processes, leading transformational change.
• Lead a team of managers and professionals to deliver area plans and excellence.
• Provide performance management, technical development, and coaching.
• Implement continuous improvement plans and identify key business enhancements.
• Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate on net‑zero carbon transition goals and manage associated emissions.

Requirements
