The role involves implementing commercial strategy and supporting the Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyor functions, including preparing tenders, analysing and selecting subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders, and managing their financial and commercial aspects to final account completion. You will handle site records, document control, measurements, forecasts, valuations, variations, and update projected final accounts. Additionally you will liaise with the site management team, protect the company's contractual entitlements, participate in CVR processes, assess risk and opportunities, manage cash flow, support tender activities, and supervise Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
Candidates must demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with various technology platforms, and be fully conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement. The role requires ownership, commercial awareness, effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation abilities. Required qualifications include a degree and progress towards relevant professional accreditation, knowledge of JCT, contract/commercial appreciation, and CIOB membership, along with experience in letter and report writing, negotiation, and CVRs.
