The engineer will work within cross‑functional teams with a manufacturing emphasis to achieve procurement objectives, providing manufacturing input to design engineering, representing the manufacturing perspective in sourcing strategy, and collaborating with Procurement and Quality to stand up new suppliers.
- Provide manufacturing input to design engineering for producibility and facilitate design‑for‑manufacture supplier events.
- Represent manufacturing perspective in component sourcing strategy.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Quality to onboard new suppliers.
- Develop and conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessments.
- Support suppliers on quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP, drawing alteration requests, SABRe).
- Perform source inspections of supplier hardware deliveries.
- Drive continuous improvement and share best practices across the supply chain.

Basic qualifications include an associate degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business with four or more years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree with two or more years, a master’s degree, a JD/PhD, or six years of experience in lieu of a degree. U.S. citizenship is required for consideration.
Preferred credentials comprise Six Sigma Black Belt expertise, strong understanding of SABRe, FAIR, and PPAP requirements, experience in global manufacturing environments, electronics and controls manufacturing, certification processes, robust design methodologies, and design of tooling, gaging, and fixtures, along with a proven track record of delivering world‑class manufacturing performance with suppliers.
- Achieve Certified Rolls‑Royce source inspector status.
- Associate degree + 4+ years Ops/Manufacturing/Quality/Purchasing experience, or Bachelor’s degree + 2+ years, or Master’s degree, or JD/PhD, or 6+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Six Sigma Black Belt and continuous improvement expertise.
- Strong knowledge of SABRe, FAIR, PPAP requirements.
- Experience in global manufacturing, electronics and controls, and certification processes.
