Transport Planner

Description

• Support the team as a Fire Warden and First Aider (if required).
• Maintain accurate transport and order data in planning systems or ERP platforms.
• Handle customer queries professionally and escalate where necessary.
• Verify order details including product codes, quantities, and delivery instructions.
• Receive and input customer orders via phone, email, or digital platforms.
• Support documentation for audits and inspections.
• Monitor delivery progress and proactively address delays or issues.
• Plan and schedule deliveries based on customer orders, vehicle availability, and route efficiency.
• Generate reports on order volumes, delivery performance, transport KPIs, and exceptions.
• Coordinate with transport planners, hauliers, and drivers to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.
• Development of internal/external relationships.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations (e.g., driver hours, vehicle weight limits).
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Understanding of logistics systems and transport planning processes.
• Ability to positively influence and challenge.
• Experience managing logistics and planning teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Pragmatic and resilient, with a logical approach to problem-solving.
• Driver management and legal compliance (e.g., O Licence, driver hours).
• Customer service and positive communication.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of order fulfilment workflows.
• Experience with planning tools and systems.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
