Lead Superintendent - Healthcare

Description

Gilbane is seeking a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations for projects up to $50 million. The role requires daily presence on the job site and serves as a key member of the project team.

• Direct daily coordination of trade contractors and sub‑contractors to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Develop, document, and communicate field work plans and change orders.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of contract documents and verify necessary permits.
• Serve as primary on‑site safety representative and enforce safety compliance.
• Lead regular contractor meetings, produce daily reports, and manage the project schedule with contingency plans.
• Coordinate job‑site logistics, material ordering, and implement the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan.
• Train and mentor Field Engineers and Superintendents on construction processes and business acumen.
• Manage performance and workload of direct reports, fostering an inclusive team environment.
• Collaborate with business development to align sales strategies, client relationships, and performance metrics.
• Assist with financial forecasting, time‑and‑material tracking, and scope development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
• 7‑12 years leading $30 M+ commercial/industrial projects; healthcare experience required.
• OSHA 30‑hour, STS‑C, and First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop the Bleed certifications.
• Strong technical, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction scheduling/logistics software.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction documents, safety processes, and cost control.

Compensation for Arlington, VA ranges from $121,400 to $165,000, supplemented by competitive health and welfare benefits, a generous profit‑sharing/401k plan, and ongoing educational investment.
