Construction Safety Specialist

Description

• When requested, respond to construction incident scene(s) and assist Client Construction Safety teams with major incident investigations.
• Perform site safety and security reviews including, but not limited to, construction equipment, personnel, work procedures and traffic control.
• Provide daily reports with photographs, in a manner agreed to prior to the work, to Client Construction Safety teams.
• Provide other Construction Safety and Security field services, as directed.
• Provide counseling and intervention to correct observed hazardous, at risk, or noncompliant work activities.
• Review identified uncontrolled hazards or security vulnerabilities with contractor supervision and establish agreement regarding future compliant controls for identified hazards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, basic sciences, engineering or related field.
• Current certification in First Aid, and CPR.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction safety with progressively greater responsibilities.
• Construction Safety & Health Technician (CHST) designation.
• Become familiar with the construction safety and security requirements of the Project.
• Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30 training certification.
• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
