  • Represent Boyd Jones with professionalism, collaboration, and integrity at every interaction.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and excellence across project teams.
  • Anticipate potential design or constructability challenges and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients during the preconstruction phase.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Prepare bid packages, solicit and analyze subcontractor proposals, and make scope recommendations.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to improve estimating accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Identify and evaluate value engineering opportunities that enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and life-cycle cost analyses to support client decision-making.
  • Champion Boyd Jones’ culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop accurate quantity takeoffs, detailed budgets, and cost models at every stage of design.
  • Support design-build and CMAR projects by integrating cost, design, and scheduling strategies early.
  • Lead presentations and communicate complex cost data clearly and effectively.
  • Provide constructability reviews and recommend alternative materials, systems, or approaches.

  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, systems, and design processes.
  • Proven leadership ability with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • 8–10 years of progressive preconstruction and estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven experience leading preconstruction efforts on commercial projects such as office, healthcare, education, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex estimates, design coordination, and client communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and related estimating tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
