- Prepare and review complete substation physical design packages including single‐line diagrams, substation physical layouts, substation equipment specifications, conduit and cable plans and details, grounding grid plan and details, lightning protection and yard lighting plans, and bills of materials.
- Support bid and execution phase design and consulting services.
- Perform and review substation studies and calculations including short circuit, busbar force, grounding, lightning analysis, conduit fill and voltage drop.
- Perform and lead others in the engineering design, technical strategy, and delivery of HV substation projects for electric utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers.
- Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables across multiple offices.
- Provide construction support and interdisciplinary coordination.

- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- The ability to prioritize work effectively, manage deadlines and organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as needed, to achieve agreed goals and results.
- At least 8 years’ experience in 15kV through 345kV physical utility substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
- Excellent communication skills — able to interact with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to represent the company credibly.
- Experience performing substation design in BIM software (Inventor, SDSP4A, Primtech) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed (site visits, client/vendor meetings).
