The role involves performing routine engineering tasks on less complex assignments, applying theoretical knowledge and practical design methods under direct supervision.
Primary duties include becoming familiar with engineering design and drafting standards, producing detailed calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects, and assisting in developing conceptual process engineering designs and studies to determine the most efficient solutions.
The position also supports the creation of estimate-level preliminary designs and material take‑offs, and collaborates with engineers and designers to meet project goals related to safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science program in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 2.7, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with chemical/process calculations, simulation software such as Aspen Plus, PRO/II, ChemCad, hydraulic analysis tools, and CAD programs like AutoCAD or MicroStation is advantageous. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
