IKO is seeking a detail‑driven Indirect Tax Specialist to oversee U.S. sales and use tax compliance. The role ensures accurate, timely multi‑state filings, reduces compliance risk, and partners with Finance and IT to strengthen processes and tax system configuration. As the organization grows, the position may expand into additional indirect tax and compliance areas.
The specialist will manage sales and use tax returns, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper remittance. They will handle state and local tax notices, coordinate audits, monitor nexus thresholds, and maintain ERP tax configurations. Additionally, they will research emerging indirect tax requirements and support Canadian GST/HST, excise, and property tax matters.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have at least three years of U.S. sales and use tax compliance experience, preferably multi‑state. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet multiple deadlines are essential. Preferred qualifications include CPA certification, experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors, and familiarity with ERP systems (JDE, SAP) and indirect tax software such as Avalara.
IKO invests in its employees, offering competitive compensation, health care, and a progressive, challenging workplace that emphasizes teamwork and integrity. The company promotes individual accomplishment, loyalty, and continuous learning, recognizing that employee strength drives its success.
