As a Proposal Specialist, you will lead and support high‑profile, strategic pursuits by managing complex proposals under tight deadlines. You will develop EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs that meet Ledcor’s brand and industry standards while navigating design‑build and alternative delivery procurement processes. Depending on the pursuit, you may take full ownership of the submission or contribute specialized expertise in content development, messaging, or compliance.
As a senior team member, you will mentor junior staff, share best practices, and foster a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment. The role supports Ledcor’s dynamic operations group in Edmonton or Calgary, AB.
Essential responsibilities include leading and coordinating the full proposal lifecycle for EOIs, RFQs, and RFPs, ensuring compliance with Ledcor’s standards, client requirements, and tight deadlines. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align proposal content with project goals and embed strategic win themes that highlight Ledcor’s value. Conducting compliance reviews and providing expertise in strategic messaging, content planning, and narrative development is also required.
You will tailor proposal content to client‑specific needs using insights from strategy sessions to craft compelling responses. Mentoring and supporting proposal team members through training, onboarding, and guidance will promote continuous learning. In high‑profile pursuits you will offer content review, feedback, and best practices while managing quality control and consistency across deliverables.
Maintaining and enhancing the proposal content library to ensure accuracy, currency, and brand alignment is a key task. You will drive continuous improvement by refining processes, tools, and templates in partnership with Marketing and Technology. Analyzing proposal outcomes and lessons learned will inform future strategies and facilitate workshops or training sessions to share knowledge across the team.
Your ability to shift between coordination and strategy ensures each pursuit is handled with precision. Reporting to the Proposal Team Manager, you will drive continuous improvement by refining proposal processes, templates, and tools. You will also help standardize practices across the team to boost efficiency and align with industry expectations.
Qualifications include a minimum of six years of experience in proposals, marketing, communications, or project coordination/management, with at least three years focused on writing and coordinating complex pursuits. Proven ability to lead high‑profile construction proposals and familiarity with private and public procurement processes and alternative delivery models such as P3, Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build, and IPD are essential. A strong background in business development and marketing within the AEC sector is also required.
You must be skilled at managing multiple proposals simultaneously, with expertise in planning, prioritization, and deadline‑driven execution. A deep understanding of the full proposal lifecycle, compliance standards, and strategies to maximize scoring potential is expected. Advanced writing and editing skills are needed to synthesize complex information into persuasive, client‑focused content under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in visual design and publishing using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) is required to create brand‑aligned proposals. Experience with digital collaboration and content‑management tools such as SharePoint, Box, Jungle Docs, Salesforce, Empower, and Microsoft Teams is important. You will also provide mentorship and onboarding support to junior members while building strong cross‑functional relationships.
