The engineer will create detailed 3‑D CAD models and design documentation for individual parts and complex assemblies of electrical components and enclosures. This includes performing thorough component layout analyses to pinpoint potential failure points and opportunities for optimization. The design process will be documented and shared with colleagues across the business unit, both locally and globally.
Key duties involve preparing drawings for parts, sub‑assemblies, and full‑unit layouts, collaborating with engineers, designers, and manufacturing staff, and exploring software capabilities to devise innovative solutions. A solid grasp of mechanical design principles, engineering standards, material properties, and manufacturing processes is required. The role also demands effective communication, deadline management, SAP/MRP usage to review materials and BOMs, and mentorship of less‑experienced designers.
