The Energy Analyst role supports day‑to‑day operations in multiple North American energy markets, handling baseline validation, market monitoring, bid preparation, event readiness, auction execution, and settlement reconciliation. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to deepen knowledge of energy market mechanics, with a long‑term goal of becoming a key member of the market operations team.
- Support daily operations across energy markets, including baseline validation, market monitoring, bid/event readiness, auction preparation, and settlement reconciliation.
- Prepare and review bid submissions for demand‑response, ancillary services, capacity, and other market products.
- Monitor market rules, regulatory changes, and ensure compliance for participation in energy market programs.
- Collect, validate, and analyze operational data; run quality assurance, troubleshoot discrepancies, and generate performance reports.
- Assist in performance tracking and reporting to clients and internal stakeholders, including post‑event reporting, revenue/cost calculations, and KPI monitoring.
- Support onboarding of new clients or assets by setting up monitoring, documentation, and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Data Services, Finance, Operations, Client Services) to ensure smooth execution of market services.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to streamline operations and reduce manual workload.
- Maintain smooth, reliable day‑to‑day market operations and develop a solid understanding of demand‑response programs within 12 months.
- Deliver on‑time, accurate customer performance tracking, settlement reconciliation, and reporting.
- Reduce operational errors and compliance risks while improving data integrity and reliability.
- Create clear operational documentation and process workflows to support scaling.
- Independently support onboarding of new customers/assets with minimal supervision.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Energy Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in energy market operations, utilities, demand response, asset dispatch, or strong analytical aptitude for energy markets.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficient with Excel‑based modeling and spreadsheets.
- Understanding or willingness to learn North American energy markets, capacity/ancillary services, and demand‑response frameworks.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing time‑sensitive tasks and multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and stakeholder interaction.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and learning.
- Exposure to IESO, MISO, or other North American markets (preferred).
- Experience with data analysis or scripting tools such as advanced Excel, Python, or Power BI (preferred).
- Interest in demand response, battery storage, DERs, or grid‑capacity/flexibility services (preferred).
