The Field Service Technician will perform commissioning and hands‑on mechanical and electrical field service on Jenbacher gas engines ranging from 0.25 to 9.5 MW. Engines run on natural gas and a variety of alternative fuels such as biogas, landfill gas, coal‑mine gas, sewage gas, and other combustible industrial waste gases.
- Execute engine service per maintenance protocol, including oil management, filter and valve replacement, and measurements.
- Perform minor repairs alongside planned maintenance tasks.
- Conduct major engine service in collaboration with colleagues, following the major service protocol.
- Rebuild in‑frames, including engine, gearbox, and generators.
- Monitor maintenance activities for compliance with EHS protocols.
- Analyze engine failures across mechanics, electronics, and software, reviewing historical data.
- Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical engine issues.
- Prepare detailed site visit reports covering symptoms, actions, materials, hours, results, and follow‑up actions.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Process timesheets, expense reports, EHS forms, and job reports promptly.
- Comply with all EHS policies and procedures to ensure safe work sites.
- Meet insurability standards to drive a company vehicle.

Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and be able to travel up to 80 % of the time, including remote work as needed. Insurability standards must be met to operate a company vehicle.
Applicants should have at least four years of experience with reciprocating or renewable‑gas engines, preferably with commissioning exposure, and possess Mechanical and/or Electrical Technician certifications. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and customer‑focused skills, along with computer and PLC knowledge, are essential for success.
- Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
