Performs routine and emergency maintenance work as required.
May be required to assist in the clean up of spills of these materials.
Lubricates, dismantles, inspects, cleans, replaces worn or damaged parts, reassembles and test fans, motors, pumps, refrigeration compressors, electrostatic and automatic air filters and all other equipment that makes up the air conditioning system.
Uses a variety of mechanic's hand tools, small power tools, Freon leak detectors, etc. and measuring and test equipment, such as thermometers, anemometers, K.W.H. meters, tachometers, dial and feeler gages, etc.
Operates and adjusts equipment to control humidity, temperature, drafts, air cleanliness, etc. Makes routine and special checks on all equipment and controls.
Frequently works near rapidly moving machinery.
Employee may be required to handle both liquid and solid type hazardous materials and wastes.
Takes and records test data, such air movement, wet and dry bulb temperature readings, relative humidity, fan and motor RPM etc.

This work requires a conscientious, dependable employee who can work with little or no supervision when necessary.
Specialized training and/or experience in this field is desirable.
In order to be considered for this position, must be a US Citizen
Must work both inside and outside of buildings in all kinds of weather.
Works from schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, verbal and written instructions.
Must be knowledgeable about proper and safe methods to handle these materials.
Must have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training of eight (8) years to qualify as a Journeyperson.
Certification under the Section 608 or Section 609 EPA technician certification program
Must be able to detect malfunction of equipment by noise, vibration, temperature or other external means.
Requires a considerable amount of walking and ladder climbing.
Must be able to operate any mechanical or control equipment manually.
Must be in good physical condition and be able to do heavy lifting.
