  • Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, instrumentation, controls and automation engineering and design services for a wide variety
  • Performing electrical design calculations and analyzing electrical systems.
  • Cross-discipline coordination to ensure that the multi-discipline design intent is met.
  • Providing support for inspection of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Developing and reviewing single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics,
  • Collaborating with engineers and designers in creating 2D and 3D drawings and concept illustrations.
  • Supporting the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
  • Developing plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
  • 5+ years in design and AutoCAD drafting of electrical, instrumentation and control projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ETAP, AGI 32 and Navisworks is an asset. BIM knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of the CEC, IEC, and NFPA.
  • Comfortable in a field setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel within Alberta.
  • Comfortable working under and meeting tight deadlines.
  • An Electrical/Instrumentation Technology diploma or Engineering Design & Drafting diploma from an accredited technical college or university.
