- Applying electrical engineering principles and techniques to provide power, instrumentation, controls and automation engineering and design services for a wide variety
- Performing electrical design calculations and analyzing electrical systems.
- Cross-discipline coordination to ensure that the multi-discipline design intent is met.
- Providing support for inspection of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
- Developing and reviewing single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics,
- Collaborating with engineers and designers in creating 2D and 3D drawings and concept illustrations.
- Supporting the project team in development of design, documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
- Developing plans and details for hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
- 5+ years in design and AutoCAD drafting of electrical, instrumentation and control projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience with ETAP, AGI 32 and Navisworks is an asset. BIM knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of the CEC, IEC, and NFPA.
- Comfortable in a field setting.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within Alberta.
- Comfortable working under and meeting tight deadlines.
- An Electrical/Instrumentation Technology diploma or Engineering Design & Drafting diploma from an accredited technical college or university.
