Senior Mechanical Designer

Description

• Analyze and resolve technical problems related to product design and manufacturing.
• Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and job orders to create accurate designs.
• All employees are expected to adhere to strict safety guidelines, report any safety issues, and follow all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols.
• Input items and parts to build out accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Design, detail, and check all drawings for ASME code pressure vessels, systems, and aftermarket parts.
• Understand and apply materials and construction rules for ASME Code pressure vessels.
• Coordinate with the sales team on vessel design and drawing release to meet production schedules.
• Create and assemble Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and final documentation packages.
• Provide technical support to customer service, production, quality control, and inter-company engineering teams.
• Utilize SolidWorks to create production-quality technical drawings and documentation.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join the Vessel Engineering team. The primary purpose of this role is to design and detail ASME Code pressure vessels and systems. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who provides critical support to sales, production, and quality control, ensuring designs meet all required standards and project specifications.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding, NDE, and assembly.
• Experience with EI (Energy Institute) Qualification requirements is a strong plus, but not required.
• In-depth knowledge of ASME pressure vessel codes and standards.
• 5+ years of professional experience with SolidWorks is mandatory.
• SolidWorks Professional Certification is strongly preferred.
• An Associate's degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience in the design and drafting of ASME code pressure vessels.
• Excellent technical communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks is mandatory.
• Understand welding, NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), and testing processes relevant to pressure vessels.
