HVAC Senior Project Manager

Description

• Lead the planning and implementation of HVAC projects
• Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and control.
• Lead and motivate project teams, including BIM/VDC, Mechanical engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
• Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that may arise.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Present regular project updates to stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
• Ensure all project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Assign tasks and manage the performance of team members.
• Ensure that all HVAC installations and systems meet the highest quality standards.
• On-site responsibilities include site walks, safety inspections, coordination with field teams, and client meetings.
• Office work includes project planning, reporting, and coordination with design and operations teams.
• Address and resolve any project-related issues or disputes.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
• Implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
• Oversee the commissioning and handover process to clients.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Work with owners and end users
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

• Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and financial reporting.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or related field, desired
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
• Attention to detail and quality orientation
• The work environment may involve exposure to construction activities, mechanical systems, and active job sites.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• OSHA certification and PMP preferred.
• Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and client relationship management.
• Technical expertise in HVAC systems
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems design, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong portfolio of successfully delivered major projects ($20M+) in aviation and/or healthcare sectors.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Risk management and problem-solving
• Frequent travel to project sites is required, including aviation facilities, healthcare campuses, and other major construction sites.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years progressive project management experience in HVAC/mechanical contracting.
