Oversee the use of competency management systems to track, assess, and report workforce competency.
Consult and advise internal and external customers on appropriate framework and approach
Provide coaching and support to team members and stakeholders on competency processes and best practices.

Head of Centre for SQA, apply additional qualification delivery in line with business requirements
Ensure development of all personnel within the team to meet strategic and business requirements
Accountable for the line management, coaching and mentoring of Competence Advisors and Coordinators
Development of proposal documents in line with external customer requirements, costs and Framework requirements
Work with other parts of the business to grow the CMS as an external offering Conduct internal Competence audits
Act as Lead Internal Quality Assurer and manage all Quality Assurance aspects of Competence Assurance – audits, reporting, review, verification, training etc.
Co-ordinate and facilitate the Competence Assurance Steering Group Meetings
Develop, review, and maintain competence related processes, procedures and supporting documentation
Monitor performance metrics and deliver regular reports to senior leadership.
Development of Competence and Training requirements aligned to relevant industry standards Project Management of all improvement projects
Maintain awarding organisation approvals i.e., SQA centre status, OPITO
Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac's life saving rules.
Focal point for external Competence Audits (OPITO, HSSE, FPAL, ISO, Customers)
Assist in facilitation of regular competence forums
Actively participate in, and support, all PFM HSE plans, initiatives and improvements
Ensure quality, integrity, and governance of the Competence Management Service (CMS).
Ensure adequate resources for the full scope covered by the Competence & Training team, carry out resource planning

Experience in development of competency framework, processes and procedures
Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry (or other highly regulated/safety focused industry).
