Key activities include designing, configuring, and implementing SAP PP and Variant Configuration solutions across the project life‑cycle from blueprint to go‑live, managing master data such as BOMs and routings, and ensuring seamless integration with SAP SD, MM, FICO and non‑SAP systems via IDoc mappings. The consultant will also support integration with SAP CPQ and, where applicable, IBP for advanced planning, and align business process improvements with measurable outcomes like yield and efficiency.
Ongoing responsibilities encompass production support, ticket handling, maintenance of production plans, costs, and inventory records, as well as preparation for go‑live and post‑go‑live activities. Effective communication is required to create user manuals, deliver training, write functional specifications, and coordinate with business stakeholders.
The SAP PP‑VC Consultant role demands a deep understanding of Production Planning and Variant Configuration, as well as expertise in full‑cycle implementations and integration with SAP SD, MM, and FI modules. The consultant will configure the Variant Configuration module, develop make‑to‑order solutions, train end‑users, and provide post‑go‑live support, including troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
Candidates should have 5‑8 years of experience in SAP PP‑VC implementations, including at least one end‑to‑end project, and possess strong functional knowledge of PP, Variant Configuration, and related integrations (IDoc, BAPI, ALE, EDI). A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is typical, while a master’s or MBA is preferred. Essential soft skills include analytical thinking, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, independent work, cross‑functional teamwork, and stakeholder management.
