- Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems.
- Interpret building plans and drawings to select pipe type and size.
- Inspect worksite for obstructions and safety issues.
- Plan installation sequence to avoid conflicts with other trades.
- Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutters, torch, or cutting machine.
- Thread pipe with a threading machine.
- Bend pipe manually or with a pipe‑bending machine.
- Assemble and install metal and non‑metal pipe and fittings (brass, copper, lead, glass, plastic).
- Join pipe using threaded, caulked, welded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented methods.
- Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers.
- Test system for leaks by pressurizing and monitoring gauges.
- Coordinate eye‑hand‑finger movements and use hands, arms, and fingers fully.
- Climb ladders and scaffolding while maintaining balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
