- Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures.
- Provide Technical Direction for wiring install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system.
- Provide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products.
- Ensure the correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance practices are followed.
- Implement excitation control system software changes.
- Trace through the software documentation.
- Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports.
- Actively manage electrical activities on-site during Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of upgrade project or new installation, including but not limited to oversight of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for Electrical system such as GEV EX2100e & LS2100e.
- Implement control constant modifications.
- Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
- Overall responsibility of the management of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating, and directing of resources such as labor, tools, and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.
- Provide technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians, and operators.
- Set up and modify the hardware /software associated with Gas and Steam Turbine systems.
- Reading and Modifying software sequencing
- Ensure contractual obligations are met and attend technical meetings with Customers.
- Provide expert consultation on complex projects.
- Electrical Technical Field Advisor will install, commission, and troubleshoot the Excitation panel, LCI, Digital Generator Protection panel and supporting wiring systems for gas and steam turbines.
- Support the business growth initiatives.
- Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation.
- Ensure all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.

- Work with both analog and digital controls including logic.
- Qualified level. Has the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. Has experienced successful installations and outages.
- Familiar with Instruments and controls and PLCs for controls training
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working on GEV Electrical systems such Electrical EX2000, EX2100, EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e and GPP systems.
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to manage turnkey projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience without formal degree, in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant electrical equipment installation/ commissioning.
- Availability to frequently travel (.i.e. More than 75%), work offshore and in restricted countries
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Strong computer skills
- Work on absolute system such as EX2000/EX2100/ LS2100 & LS2100e
- Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems and their integration with Excitation / LCI system.
