The Senior Staff Accountant will own the complete accounts payable cycle, handling high‑volume invoices, ensuring timely vendor payments, and maintaining strong internal controls. Additional responsibilities include supporting month‑end close, tax compliance, capital lease accounting, and ad‑hoc projects as directed by the Controller.

Key duties involve overseeing invoice processing, matching to purchase orders, coding to the correct G/L accounts, and managing approval workflows. The role requires continuous process improvement, automation initiatives, preparation of AP aging reports, DPO analysis, audit support, and mentorship of junior AP staff.

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, processing high‑volume invoices and matching them to purchase orders.
• Code invoices to appropriate G/L accounts and ensure proper approval workflows.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare AP aging reports, analyze Days Payable Outstanding, and support month‑ and year‑end close.
• Mentor, train, and manage performance of junior AP staff, delegating tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments as a strategic business partner and communicate effectively.
• Provide documentation and support for external audits and maintain internal controls.
• Manage AP functions within the ERP system, assisting with upgrades or migrations.
• Assist the Controller with ad‑hoc accounting projects and standard monthly accounting activities.
• Handle multiple simultaneous deadlines, applying critical thinking to resolve data anomalies.
• Work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, and pass background and drug screenings.

Requirements

Mesa Power Solutions is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable, based at its Loveland, CO headquarters. This full‑time position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $105,000 per year and requires a four‑year degree.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and possess at least three years of accounting experience, with a preference for five years and CPA certification. Required skills include deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially capital versus expense treatment, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and strong written and verbal communication.

The position involves constant sitting, standard office visual and auditory requirements, frequent typing, and occasional flexible hours including evenings or weekends. Minimal safety hazards are present, and the role operates in a typical office environment.
