BEAM Professionals brings over 30 years of experience designing and maintaining exterior building envelope components for a diverse range of clients, including K‑12 schools, higher education, municipalities, corporate, commercial, and sports facilities. The firm combines deep design expertise, an understanding of building procedures, and intimate knowledge of envelope project execution, using a collaborative team approach and a signature consulting process to deliver results that reflect clients’ missions and values.
The Building Envelope Intern role is a part‑time position designed for individuals pursuing a technical certification, community‑college degree, or university program related to the building envelope industry. Interns will produce construction documents, support production designers and managers, and ensure the quality of their own work while learning to master full drawing sets and gain comprehensive knowledge of building enclosure systems and the BEAM project life cycle.
- Demonstrate full understanding of building enclosure systems.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment juggling multiple projects.
- Willingness to receive and follow directions.
- 0‑2 years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Entry‑level proficiency with BIM360.
- Training certificate from college or Autodesk for AutoCAD, Revit, and/or BIM360.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction science, or related field.
- Prior experience drafting construction documents for an architectural, engineering, or building envelope consulting firm.
- Knowledge of roofing and/or waterproofing.
- Costco / Sam's Club membership.
- Online professional licensure exam prep library.
