Drafting Supervisor

Description

• Identify training needs and support team development on software and telecom design standards
• Review drawings for technical accuracy, compliance and constructability
• Host weekly production goal meetings to review priorities, capacity and forecasted work
• Track progress, deadlines, and revision cycles to ensure on-time delivery
• Lead, coach and support drafters; assign projects based on deadlines and skill sets
• Communicate risks and blocks and report drafting metrics such as turnaround time, backlog, and rework.
• Provide support to other internal teams as needed such as permit packages and traffic control plans
• Maintain and enforce drafting standards, templates and QC procedures
• Collaborate with permitting and field engineering to ensure plans meet jurisdictional and field conditions

Requirements

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to read information and instructions and interpret and analyze contents from materials such as technical reports
• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to complete tasks with latitude to decide what work will be required well in advance of actual activities
• Ability or knowledge of using the following machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices and software; Excel, Word, Auto CAD, O-Calc
• Ability to solve problems that are frequent and unique. CAD draftsman may need to use creativity and judgement due to frequently changing conditions
• Advanced CAD skills and deep knowledge of OSP/ISP telecom design
• Ability to set up and manage CAD drafting and plan preparation standards
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently
• Above average attention to detail
