The role involves managing a team within the Cost & Commercial Management career family to deliver project cost management. You will liaise with external contractors and consultants, report to clients and stakeholders, and oversee cost delivery for small‑to‑medium health, education, and laboratory developments or larger component assignments.
Key accountabilities include coaching and developing team members, working within financial systems to produce reports, forecasts and track budget variances, and delivering a portfolio of cost projects within agreed resources and deadlines. You will advise colleagues on risk and compliance, present risks to senior managers, evaluate data to identify trends, and provide recommendations that support cost and commercial decisions. In addition, you will share knowledge to improve processes, collaborate across the organisation, and offer specialist technical advice to senior management.
The ideal candidate brings health‑sector experience, preferably having worked on ProCure 22/23 or similar capital‑works procurement routes. Experience in coaching, mentoring junior staff and building relationships with external stakeholders at middle‑management level is essential. A relevant bachelor’s degree, professional qualification or chartered status, and a CSCS card are required.
