The Senior Consultant‑Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Technical Services role is a key position in power systems engineering consulting, focused on delivering technical solutions for the power grid and supporting a clean energy future. - Meet Bulk Electric System professional work experience requirements as specified per degree level.
- Proficiency with power systems engineering tools such as PSLF, PowerWorld, PSSE, Aspen, TARA, CAPE, DSATools, PSCAD, or EMPT.
- Familiarity with FERC, NERC, and state regulatory requirements and processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to travel and work on‑site at Guidehouse or client locations.
- Preference for candidates residing within reasonable driving distance of a Guidehouse or client office.
- Consulting experience within the utilities industry.
- Post‑graduation work experience using one or more power systems engineering tools (e.g., PSLF, PowerWorld, PSSE).
- Working knowledge of ISO/RTO operations, especially Western markets and CAISO.
- Knowledge of resource interconnection and expansion planning practices and protocols.
- Familiarity with competitive transmission development processes.
- Coding skills in languages such as R, Python, VBA, or SQL.
